Bevcon Intrusive is located in the Val d’Or East portion of the property. The last drill program in this region was in 1992. From 1945 – 1967, the Bevcon Gold mine produced 438,000 ounces of gold grading 4.3 g/t Au making it the 6th largest historic gold mine in Val d’Or (Source: SIGEOM/MERN). During that time a quartz-tourmaline vein system was mined over a strike of 1,000m and to a depth of 680m. Exploration drilling confirms that the deposit remains open to 1,000m depth.
Many highly prospective drilling targets have been identified in the Western extension of the Bevcon Gold mine with gold showing within and along the contact of the Bevcon Intrusive. The geological model suggests the presence of inflexion structures which appear to control the gold mineralization.
